Roberta Romano

Fernanda Romano was born in São Paulo in Brazil and has a degree in Business Management with an emphasis in Public Administration from EAESP – Fundação Getúlio Vargas. After stints at agencies in Brasil, the United States and England, she joined Naked Communications in New York and started Malagueta as a side project.
In almost twenty years of marketing and advertising, she has accumulated a lot of experience in several product categories and won several awards, including a Cannes Lion Cyber Grand Prix in the same year as her then agency, DM9DDB, was named Cyber Agency of the Year. The film made for the Let’s Colour campaign for AkzoNobel (Dulux) while at EuroRSCG was one of 2011 TED’s Ads worth spreading.
In 2007, she was selected one of Ad Age’s Women to Watch in the United States, a feat repeated in Brasil a few years later. In 2012, Fernanda was ranked by the AdAge as one of the 100 of most influential women in global communication next to names such as Arianna Huffington and Sheryl Sandberg; she is a member of Creative Social and also worked for Havas Group, DM9DDB, Lowe and JWT.

With almost 20 years' experience in Communication and Marketing, Renata has worked with clients such as Johnson & Johnson's Consumer Products, OI Telecom, Terra, ESPN, Natura, Mars, Bayer, DuPont, Monsanto, 3M, AB InBev, Warner, Kingston, Sonae Sierra, MaxHaus, Pearson, among others. In 2012, she joined Naked Communications in Brasil as head of client services and planning. She joined Malagueta as a partner when Fernanda's "side project" became a company. Renata is also a co-founder of Agente Cidadão, an NGO focused on bridging corporations willing to help and NGOs that need help; co-founder of the WeLove Collective - a start-up incubated and majority-owned by Malagueta - and is on the board of advisors of Aliança Futuro da Criança Institute, an NGO dedicated to find human and financial resources to NGOs that work with education of children and at-risk youth.

Before joining Malagueta as a partner in 2015, Roberta spent over 10 years in multinational companies. She then spent some time in a small retail company, specialized in running gear and 2 years in headhunting. Roberta works closely with clients and supports the company's many activities. With a Business Administration degree and previous experience in start-ups, Roberta also manages the US operation and overlooks all expansion initiatives.
